It could save your life!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium; font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: black;\">The leading cause of death in America is not heart disease, cancer, stroke or diabetes. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">It is the unhealthy lifestyle that most Americans are addicted to which is the true cause<\/span>. <\/span>A <a href=\"http:\/\/msutoday.msu.edu\/news\/2005\/study-finds-very-few-adults-leading-healthy-lifestyles\/\">study<\/a> by Mathew Reeves, <span style=\"color: black;\"> a Michigan State University epidemiologist finds that <\/span><strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\"><span style=\"color: blue;\">only 3% of Americans maintain a healthy lifestyle<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: black;\">. It is a situation that is causing <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: black;\">dire consequences for millions of Americans<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: black;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium; font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: black;\">&#8220;I was really quite surprised at how low that number was,\u201d said Reeves, an assistant professor of epidemiology.&#8221; The research published in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine, found that <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: black;\">only 3 percent <span style=\"font-size: medium;\">undertook four basic steps <\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: black;\">that define a healthy lifestyle:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; color: black; font-size: medium;\">\u25cf not smoking<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; color: black; font-size: medium;\">\u25cf healthy weight<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; color: black; font-size: medium;\">\u25cf eating right including a minimum of 5 fruits\/vegetables a day<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; color: black; font-size: medium;\">\u25cf exercising at least 5 times a week for 30 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium; font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Those are not exactly Olympic caliber qualifications. That is the good news. These 4 criteria are something you can choose to take ownership of now. You can <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: blue;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.3percentchoice.com\/\">become a 3%&#8217;er<\/a><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #3365ff;\">. <\/span><span style=\"color: black;\">All you need to do is put on the hat of responsibility and <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: black;\">own this choice<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: black;\">. Brutal Fact: if you are fat or your kids are fat, it is your fault. Until you own that nothing will change.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; color: black; font-size: medium;\">You have made some bad choices in the past &#8211; take responsibility now. You need to step up and make some new choices, maybe <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">extremely different choices<\/span> right now!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; color: black; font-size: medium;\">Recent research from the National Cancer Institute wants men to increase their consumption of fruits and veggies to nine servings a day and women increase to seven. A serving is considered a medium orange, eight carrot sticks or \u00bc cup of raisins <strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\">\u2013 French fries don\u2019t count!<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; color: black; font-size: medium;\">Is that possible to get those 7 or 9 servings? Of course it is if you make the decision to do so. You have to choose to do that. A couple simple ways is to have one meal a day that is entirely fruits and vegetables. When you are snacking (have a cooler in your car\/office to make it easy) \u2013 instead of a candy bar or chips, grab and apple, banana, orange, carrot sticks, celery with peanut butter, cherry tomatoes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium; font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><strong><span style=\"color: blue;\">Remember it is an apple a day, not a Krispy Kreme!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; color: black; font-size: medium;\">My favorite way is to make sure I regularly eat a <strong>BIG salad<\/strong> and a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">small entr\u00e9e<\/span>. That is of course the opposite choice that most Americans make. Only use dark green lettuce and spinach \u2013 never Iceberg lettuce \u2013 add a variety of vegetables, fresh berries, raisins, sunflower seeds or nuts, a little chicken or lean meat or fish. The trick is to consistently make it interesting. The same salad will get boring. There are also plenty of low calorie natural dressings you can make too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; color: black; font-size: medium;\">You can also make and drink the <strong>Get Switched On Smoothie<\/strong> daily. You can get your 7-9 fruit\/veggie servings in one shot. A <\/span><strong>study<\/strong><span style=\"color: black;\">of nearly 4000 Chicago residents age 65 and older found that people who ate 2.8 or more servings of vegetables a day slowed a person\u2019s mental decline by 40% &#8211; \u201cequivalent to about five years of younger age.\u201d <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: black;\">It is never too late to start. <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: black;\">\u201c<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium; font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Why do so few Americans lead a healthy lifestyle? I believe at the heart of the issue is choice. You need a compelling reason to make the choice. How about this \u2013 how long do you want to live? What quality of life do you want to have when your 80? <\/span><strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\"><span style=\"color: blue;\">Do you see yourself even being alive at 80? I am going for 100!<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium; font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: black;\">My guess is you may need to make some <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: black;\">extreme changes in the choices <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: black;\">you are making right now. They could include cutting out all soda, sweet drinks and energy drinks, stop hanging around people who push donuts on you, join a walking\/hiking club instead, getting up 3 mornings a week for a solid cardio session, one meal a day of just veggies and fruit, quit smoking, cut fast food down drastically, put a cooler in your car with easy access to healthy food or hire a personal trainer at <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/corp.fitnesstogether.com\/\">Fitness Together<\/a> to get you jump started.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; color: black; font-size: medium;\">I created a web site for you to step up and choose to be a 3%&#8217;er \u2013 <\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-size: medium; font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #3365ff; text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.3percentchoice.com\/\">3PercentChoice.com<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: black;\">. <\/span>A recent client <strong>Alpha Controls and Services<\/strong> in Illinois took action after I spoke to all their employees recently. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"color: black; font-size: medium; font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span style=\"color: black; font-size: medium; font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">1.
