Seriously, what is your number? What is it now compared to what is possible for you? Did you know you can be in full control of your energy with better self-talk, visualization, body movement, diet, where you focus your mind and your mindset?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some believe that as you \u201cget older\u201d you\u2019re just naturally going to put on a few pounds, have more aches and pains and slow down. It\u2019s just the way it is.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">THAT IS GARBAGE!!!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once I learned I could manage my energy level like a programmable thermostat, life became easier.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maybe you\u2019ve been making excuses like that and accepted it. Isn\u2019t it time to change now?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What if you could take some simple steps now to increase your energy level?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are you even thinking about the choices you make each day and how they impact your energy?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Let\u2019s go over six strategies and concepts that work for me.<\/b><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1. Get clear on your why.\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why are you living the life you chose?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are NOT motivated to get up every morning and excited to do what you do, you may need to make a change in what you\u2019re doing OR change your attitude about what you\u2019re doing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get clear on your compelling vision for your life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proverbs 29:18 says, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWithout vision, the people will perish.\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I have a <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/getswitchedon.com\/i-just-saw-chip.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sheet<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> laminated in my shower\u00a0 that has my vision, targets and disciplines for each important area of life, and my compelling why. Knowing my \u201cwhy\u201d really drives my energy levels when life gets difficult.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2. Remember that you are what you eat.\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cliche, but it\u2019s true.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are you a 3%-er? According to research at Michigan State only 3% \u2013 yes, only 3% of Americans \u2013\u00a0 lead a healthy lifestyle. I am a 3%-er!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Watch this <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lknYqjMEGjI&amp;list=UURo4nA0SMNPDvHCZQTyngjw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">short video<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to see what being a 3%-er is all about.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Try to have at least 50% of what passes your lips to be LIVE FOODS. Bring a cooler to work with you, so you have low-sugar snacks, fresh fruits and veggies to snack on consistently.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Soda is the #1 source of calories and I suggest you eliminate that, energy drinks, high sugar drinks and coffees and diet soda.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I strive to drink a green-based fresh juice a day. Go beyond \u201cGarbage In, Garbage Out.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019ve heard the old saying, \u201cGarbage in, garbage out.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s not true when it comes to your brain!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is no firewall for your mind. Garbage in \u2013 in the form of the poor choices in music, movies, shows you binge-watch, games, books, web sites and toxic people \u2013 slowly warps your thinking and philosophy of life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Garbage gets in and has an impact day after day. It hangs around and builds a home, gets married and has children!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Garbage stays and does not go out. What you read or watch before you go to sleep, for example, matters!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Don\u2019t watch The Walking Dead! The law of association says you will become like the people and the information you spend the most time with.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make uplifting and conscious choices with who and what you spend your time with. Keep moving.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sitting is literally killing people.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/getswitchedonblog.com\/you-probably-knew-that-sitting-too-much-is-bad-just-not-this-bad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">video<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on my blog will be an eye-opener for many and could help you get an extra 10 high-quality years of healthy life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The health of your body is the health of your cells. They need oxygen!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Getting aerobic (with air) exercise \u2013\u00a0 ideally in the morning \u2013 will change your physiology for the entire day and give you a sense of accomplishment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take walking meetings when possible. Get outside after work into nature for a walk, hike, bike ride, golf, tennis, etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Decide on how many days a month you will workout, start tracking, and stick to it!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I have tracked my workouts on this form for 23 years \u2013 <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/getswitchedon.com\/assets\/get-switched-on-energy-schedule3.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get Switched On Energy Schedule<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC1470658\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Research<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> clearly shows that exercise effectively fights depression. You can feel much better by changing your habits and not need any drugs \u2013 legal or illegal.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5. Be intentional about how you spend time and money.\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When thinking about how to increase your energy level, you could think short-term, give in to instant gratification, and not take very good care of yourself right now.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can even justify it by telling yourself you are too busy or Organifi is too \u201cexpensive.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Time is going by quickly. Continue to make poor choices and they\u2019ll eventually expose you in a way you may not be happy about.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I don&#8217;t want to deal with the moment when I am diagnosed with a disease, when I could have easily avoided it by dealing with it NOW.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If that happens to you, you\u2019ll have to spend major amounts of time, money and mental anguish to reverse something you could have avoided.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6. Tap into the power of the Holy Spirit.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThose who obey God\u2019s commandments live in fellowship with Him and He with them. And we know He lives in us because the Holy Spirit lives in us.\u201d 1 John 3:24\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Early in my career, after speaking at an event for Wisconsin Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, a priest came up to me and said, \u201cSon, you are a shining light for the Holy Spirit.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That was quite a moment and forever changed the way I view my life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Starting the day with prayer, reading the Word, meditation or a gratitude journal will help keep you connected and give you energy, too.
